Dear Children and Parents,
Welcome to Grade Two! The following are some important reminders.
Science and Social Studies: Students will be taking notes. They will be taking home study sheets when preparing for a test.
Spelling: Homework will be given on Mondays. Students are to write the spelling words three times each. The words are given out the week before the test. We will be writing the words three times each together in class during the first two weeks. This will give the children time to get used to this procedure.
Math: The children will have daily board work, tests, and flash card review and tests. We will also begin the times tables later on in the year. These will include the times tables for 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 10.
Homework: The children will have homework every day except for Friday. Please be sure to check their assignment pads.
Folders: Be sure to check the children's folders every day for notices, homework papers, and corrected papers.
Journals: The children will be writing in their journals every morning.
All About Me Bulletin Board: This is assigned alphabetically. More details will be following.
Snack: The children will need a daily snack on both full days and on half days.
Ice cream: This is sold daily.
Field Trips: The children wear their gym clothes for every field trip. If paying by check, always make checks payable to Saint Stephen School. Specific details will be coming home before a particular field trip.
Scholastic Book Order: If your child orders books, please make checks out to Scholastic Book Club.
Specials: Gym - Tuesday; Music - Tuesday; Library - Wednesday; Art & Computer- Friday
